Hello! Join me here at SHPS for a fun and rewarding learning experience! Originally from North Carolina, I’ve been a Las Vegan for 12 years, and I love it here! I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math and Algebra I in 8th grade. I also coach the First LEGO League Challenge robotics team. When I’m not teaching math, I enjoy taking middle schoolers on exciting field trips to the Pali Institute or the Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI), cheering on the girls’ volleyball team, and investigating statistics in our world. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, hiking, yoga, spending time with my family and my fur-baby! I’m currently studying Spanish and working towards a plant-based diet.

Classroom Notes
Welcome to a new school year! New student orientation for incoming 6th graders will be held this Wednesday, August 2nd from 3:30 – 5 pm. Any new 7th and 8th grade students are also welcome to join. Then Friday, August 4th, we will host Meet the Teacher for Middle School students from 2 – 3 pm. Students can meet their homeroom and core teachers, tour the building, pick up their schedules and locker combinations. Middle School classes begin on Monday, August 7th at 8:15 am. The school day ends at 3:15 pm.
