I am Tess Dillashaw. I’ve been teaching for 25+ years. I received my BS in Secondary English from UNLV. I spent 5 years teaching high school English and Mathematics. I then went on to teach preschool classes part time. After that, I earned my MS in Elementary Education from NOVA Southeastern University and have been teaching elementary school ever since. I have experience in teaching all grades K-5.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 boys. We love spending our time hiking, camping, biking, and playing sports, basically any activity outside we’re willing to try. During football season, we spend our Saturdays cheering on Alabama! Roll Tide!

Classroom Notes
I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing summer. In order to avoid the “summer slide” I encourage you to read at least 20 minutes a night. You can practice your math skills in the real world by helping with the grocery shopping, baking/cooking, etc. Just look around, math is everywhere. To keep your writing skills sharp, keep a writing journal about the things you do, places you visit, people you see, anything that strikes your fancy!
