This year the students will learn how to safely and ethically use technology to become better digital citizens. While the younger students begin to learn typing and basic coding skills, the older students will continue to hone their typing skills and they will learn how to use the word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software that will bring them success throughout their academic and professional careers.
Third, Fourth and Fifth Grade students should practice on Excel, PowerPoint and Word 2016. How to open the programs and start new documents, slideshows, or workbooks.
Fifth Grade students should review how to make charts and formulas in Excel.
All Middle School students should review how to use Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and iMovie on the iPad and know the basic functions of all of these programs.
Typing Speed and Accuracy Standards: Accuracy (All Grades) 95% or better.
Minimum Typing Speed:
3rd Grade: 15 Words per minute
4th Grade: 20 Words per minute
5th Grade: 25 Words per minute
6th Grade: 30 Words per minute
7th Grade: 35 Words per minute
8th Grade: 40 Words per minute
