Our Leadership & Staff Home / About Us / Our Leadership & Staff Meet Our Dedicated Team A Message from Our Head of School Kacey Chong Dear Future Southern Highlands Prep Preschool Parent, Every morning, I watch children walk through our preschool doors with tiny backpacks, favorite stuffed animals, and big personalities already shining through. Some rush straight into the classroom ready to build, paint, and explore. Others still need an extra hug at drop-off. Our teachers know the difference, and they meet each child exactly where they are that day. That is one of the things I love most about Southern Highlands Prep Preschool. We take the time to truly know our students and families, because we believe those early years matter deeply. Our classrooms are joyful, active places where learning is woven naturally into the day. A child building a tower may also be counting blocks, naming colors, and learning how to work alongside a friend. In dramatic play centers, they learn to share ideas and express themselves confidently. We use our curriculum as a guide, but what matters most is how it feels to a child inside the classroom. Teachers use small-group instruction and learning centers to adapt lessons to each child’s developmental stage, so every student feels both supported and capable. Families often tell us they appreciate how connected they feel to their child’s day. Through our communication app, parent conferences, and daily conversations at pickup, preschool becomes a true partnership between school and home. Our teachers bring warmth and experience into every classroom, and they participate in ongoing professional development throughout the year. We also place a strong emphasis on social-emotional growth, because confidence, kindness, and independence begin early. Safety is another responsibility we take seriously, from secure check-in procedures to restricted campus access and visitor protocols. Our preschool campus in Las Vegas is filled with energy, curiosity, music, movement, and conversation. Some days are messy with paint and sensory play. Some are filled with dancing, storytelling, or science experiments. All of it helps children build confidence in themselves and excitement about learning. If you visit, I hope you will spend a few minutes simply observing a classroom. Watch how teachers speak to students, and how children move through the learning centers and interact with one another. Those small moments usually tell families everything they need to know.
